Face & Body painting have been around for as long as people have been around. It is an ancient art used to denote emotion, status, identity and transformative periods in people's lives. Today face and body art is considered a high art form and can be used to transform models into anything the imagination can dream up from animals, nature landscapes, textures, fantasy creatures, and abstract ideas to high–fashion painted clothing, product logos, advertising characters, symbolic business ideas, and characters from books or movies. Face and body art are used for different events ranging from children's parties, theatrical shows, corporate product launches, business grand openings, fashion shows, theme parties and more.

Rachel DeBoer has been involved in face and body painting for the last ten years. With a B.A. in Theater Performance from the University of South Florida, she understands the transformative and bold desire needed to create original and memorable designs for her clients. She lived on the East coast and Los Angeles where she acquired a taste for the urban, surrealistic and abstract fantasy characters she paints. She gained her experience in "The Dream Theater" in Los Angeles known for its fantastical theater combined with costume and body makeup. For the last 7 years, Rachel has been living in Maui, Hawaii surrounded by the vibrant and incredibly diverse nature landscapes as well as the Polynesian tattoo traditions which have uniquely influenced her face and body painting. In Maui she started "Fabulous Faces" a face and body art business which uses the highest quality body paints and henna to transform children and adults for parties, theater shows, art openings, workshops, corporate events, magazine advertising, fashion shows, and the yearly "Mardi Gras of the Pacific" Halloween parade. Rachel's style consists of detailed hand painted and sponge –blended work.Rachel DeBoer is available for international projects and is most recently creating a new business in Hawaii called "Transformations" that will cater to the adventurous traveler wanting to literally become part of the breathtaking Maui scenery through body-paint and captured with photography for an unforgettable memory.
